Robert 'Mouseman' Thompson Oak Cheeseboard (1950's)
Price: £ Sold
An typical early example of a carved solid oak cheeseboard, with a 'plump' trademark mouse on the board. The mouse sitting on the board, rather than the handle, is very indicative of the mouseman early period. Board has had some regular use (knife marks to the surface), which does not in any way detract from its appearance. The dark fumed colour and patina are excellent with a waxed finish. This shape is the standard oval design with a swan neck handle. Dimensions are height 5cm, length 37cm, width 17.5cm.
